Kohei Makino (牧野航平) is an employee at Hoshimi Production. He is a young manager and is in charge of the 10 new idols under the company.
Kohei has short dark charcoal gray hair and blueish gray eyes. For most of his school years, he wore glasses along with a school uniform. As an employee of Hoshimi Production, he wears a black suit and shoes.
Kohei Makino joined Hoshimi Production during his time as a high school student, to support Mana Nagase.
Kohei is the manager of the idols at Hoshimi Production and is the same age as Mana. He is a good-natured person who doesn't know when to say no. He doesn't have any particular skills, but he supports the idols with honest work.
Kohei was a classmate of Mana's at Hoshimi Private High School and sat next to her at the back of the class. She asked him to join Hoshimi Production with her as an employee, and told Shinji Saegusa that she would not join the company unless they recruited Kohei too. Kohei acted as Mana's manager while she was an idol under Hoshimi Production. He always accompanied Mana on her way to jobs, however on the day of the accident, he had another job to do before he could make it to the Grand Prix final.
Two years after Mana's death, Kohei visited their high school and sat in his old seat, where he began to see Mana's ghost; he is the only person who can see her.
Kohei and Mana were close friends, and it is hinted that they had a crush on each other which is proven to be true at the end of the series where Mana confessed her love for him while Kohei is about to return her feelings but Mana stopped her from saying so as it would just turn their separation to be harder for both of them.
